11/2/17 - JROTC Raider Update from MSG Homer- 11/1/17 - Ten members of the Elbert County FFA attended the 90th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana October 24-28, 2017.
FFA member Johna Busby (pictured, left) was recognized as one of Georgia’s 132 recipients of the prestigious American FFA Degree. Less than 1% of FFA members achieve this honor. Members explored the career expo and expanded their minds by attending a variety of workshops and participating in education and career success tours. 11/1/17 - Congratulations to Cadet PFC Abbegale McDowell for being named the Cadet of the Month for November 2017 by the JROTC Dept! Read more about Hannah here: http://bit.ly/2yLjWza 10/31/17 - Congratulations to Constance Reid, James Gordon, Deana Crook, and LeeAnne Cordell who were all chosen for their Hart EMC Bright Ideas Grant applications this year! These four teachers will each receive their requested grant amount to purchase items for the instructional project they described. The total received from Hart EMC was $2095 for the school. We are definitely appreciative of Hart EMC for their support and generosity towards our school and the education of our students! 10/29/17 - A huge congratulations to the Male Raider team taking 1st Place at the State Raider meet this past Saturday and becoming STATE CHAMPIONS! The Female Raider Team took 4th place at the State Competition and brought home three 3rd place trophies as well. Well deserved honors, Raiders! This group works collaboratively to gather news and produce ECCHS’ daily news show, the EC Daily Buzz. This experience allowed the students to see the work they’re doing on a professional scale which makes it relevant! We also met Carl Azuz, anchor of CNN 10! Awesome day of fun and learning!! 10/18/17 - CLUB NEWS: Yesterday(10/18), FCCLA officers attended the Fall Leadership Conference in Covington, GA. It was an all-day event in which officers attended sessions to develop their leadership skills. The officers also tested their knowledge of FCCLA history by taking the Statesman Test. Aleigh Robertson won the Statesman Award and gets to add a pen to her Letterman Jacket. It was a great learning experience! 10/7/17 - L-r, Christine Burdette, Alex Ivester, Jonathan Negrete, O'Bryant Shepard, and Austin Teasley presented the Colors At the Republican Gubernatorial Forum at Georgia College in Milledgeville this morning (10/7). Great experience for the students. 10/2/17 - Congratulations to Cadet Quentin Hill for being named the Cadet of the Month for October 2017 by the JROTC Dept! Any student interested in taking the ASVAB should sign-up with Major Lovin in the JROTC building. There are ONLY 40 seats available for this test! So please sign-up early. Last day to sign-up is 10 Oct 2017. 9/27/17 - We're so proud of our BDNN team and all the hard work they put into our Daily Buzz News show and our Blue Print online newspaper. Check out their daily broadcasts here: http://bit.ly/2yGQEj9 9/26/17 - Elbert County Comprehensive High School, in conjunction with School Superintendent Chuck Bell and the Elbert County Board of Education, participated in an Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 to celebrate the new ECCHS Greenhouse. ECCHS is extremely appreciative of the fiscal investment made by the Elbert County Board of Education and to the Elbert County Road & Maintenance Department for assistance with the landscaping and drainage support. 9/21/17 - It's Cultural Awareness Day in our CTAE Foods Pathway Lab! Students researched and planned meals with their team this week and were able to actually cook today. Great job, Mrs. LeeAnne Cordell and students! 9/20/17 - CLUB NEWS: FCCLA had a great meeting on Tuesday, 9/19. Mrs. Eubanks is proud of all her members working hard to sell their raffle tickets. Jamara won a 10 dollar Zaxbys gift card for selling the most raffle tickets. We are proud to announce the winner of the $100 Ingles Gift Card is Wendy Brown! Jathaja Barnett sold the winning ticket. Thank you to all of our staff and community members for supporting our fundraiser. 9/20/17 - Congratulations to FFA member Janna Anderson for her 8th place finish in the Area II Tractor Driving CDE! 9/19/17 - The Blue Devil News Network (BDNN) will be live streaming the Lady Devils softball game against Social Circle this Thursday(9/21) at 5:30pm and the Blue Devil football game against Putnam County Friday night (9/22) at 7:30pm. This production was imagined and created completely by the Level 3 class which will finish their pathway at the end of this semester. Keep up the good work! 9/15/17 - CTAE News: Great job at integrating technology into the web design classroom this morning, Mr. McCarty! The students spent the morning with drones capturing photographic images for upcoming design projects. 9/13/17 - Students, the FFA Blood Drive will be next Monday, September 18. Please check with your first block teacher for your appointment time. All donors must have a photo ID and donors who are under 18 must have a signed parent permission form. Permission forms may be picked up from and returned to the front office. 9/6/17 - Congratulations to the following JROTC cadets that were voted into Blue Sword Leadership Positions. They are (l-r): Reporter-Maelynn Ruff, Secretary-Kiler Allen, President- Mario Saponari, Vice President-Princouz Goodman, and Treasurer-Makayla Ingle. 9/1/17 - Things are really starting to shape up out back in our brand-new greenhouse!
