ECPS Hopping to the Next Grade/PTO pto
Get Georgia Reading! get GA reading

DID YOU KNOW that Two-thirds of Georgia’s children are not reading proficiently by the end of third grade. This has significant and long-term consequences for all Georgians, because low achievement in reading affects our economy, our safety, and our health.

The deadline for all students to reach an AR goal and acquire points for an AR t-shirt is April 27th end of day. Our last AR celebration is set for May 4th. All students who achieved their certifications or genre bingo during the last 9 weeks will receive an invitation.

Students who have acquired 25 pts in first grade and 15 pts in kindergarten will recieve an AR t-shirt during our end of the year awards ceremony.

Thank you for your support of this reading incentive program!

Welcome SRO Anthony Heard Ant

We are pleased to add Cpl. Anthony Heard to our Elbert County Primary School staff. Cpl. Heard has been a trusted addition to the Elbert County Sheriff's Office for several years. Recently, Sheriff Melvin Andrews with the EBOE agreed to add a full time SRO to each school in our county.

Little League Opening Day
McWilliams Park
March, 24, 2018.

Congratulations to April Saxon (parent) and Dylan Saxon (student) for winning the door prize for visiting ECPS’s booth during Opening Day at McWilliams Park.  The door prize included an Elbert County blanket, visor, and 2 insulated tumblers.  It was awarded to the name drawn from the list of visitors at the Elbert County Primary School’s tent.

ECPS was reaching out to parents to share the importance of reading aloud to their students at least 15 minutes a day.  Literature was given to parents from READALOUD.ORG about the benefits of reading.  Laura Evans, from the Community Partnership of Elbert County, Inc., encouraged parents with children under the age of 5 to enroll in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
