As the proud Principal of Elbert County Comprehensive High School, I welcome you to academic year 2017-2018, and our school webpage.  Last year saw tremendous gains academically, athletically, and through the fine arts, and I question not, that similar progression will take place as our students return.

ECCHS is very fortunate to possess such a dynamic teaching force that is committed not only to the instructional development of our children, but too, is willing to place pride and tradition on the sideline, in favor of student empowerment and personalized learning.  ECCHS students will not be held to prescriptive plans that inhibit them from discovering their academic potential through relevant and 21st Century learning.  Master scheduling this year will included online learning through Pearson Connexus, the continued implementation of our Freshman Academy, the introduction of Blue Devil 101 for our student population facing cognitive deficits, extended learning time for students demonstrating gaps in their foundational understanding, and “day-time” tutoring as part of our Response to Intervention needs.  Safety nets abound, but these processes are intended to develop students focused on their agency of educational outcomes, and are not to be viewed as an easy way out.  Learning at ECCHS should be messy and should challenge our student population, and the faculty at ECCHS will continue our participation within professional learning models to figure out how to best make that happen.

ECCHS is also very proud of the commitment we have made in reaching out to our stakeholders and community at large.  Between multiple CTAE partnerships, our continued work with post-secondary institutions, and a growing committed parent base, ECCHS is hearing the voice of the community and we are working to provide better models of citizenry within our student population.  Through this process, we are ensuring students have the soft skills and the technical application necessary to be considered job ready as they exit our hallways.

ECCHS is a GREAT campus always looking to become even better, and we are honored to be able to serve in this capacity.  We know that through our collective efforts, we will continue to be “Blue Devil Strong”.

In service,
