National Honor Society (NHS)


What is it?: National Honor Society recognizes students with exemplary scholarship, character, leadership and service. Members of NHS are allowed to wear a gold tassel at graduation. Every year a NHS senior is chosen to receive the NHS Scholarship funded by our members.


Faculty Advisor: Mrs. Daniele Franklin (B-4)


Activities: Every year, members are required to attend 4 meetings per school year and participate in 1 service project.


Who can join?: 10th, 11th & 12th graders


Meeting dates: Typically the second Monday of the month at 3:15 in B-4.


Dues: Dues are $20.00 per year. Existing member dues are to be paid by the 2nd Monday in August. New member dues are to be paid by the 1st Wednesday in September.



-Applicants must have a 90 or above unweighted average.
-Applicants must also fill out the information form and have three recommendation forms completed by teachers/coaches.
-Applicants are chosen by a faculty council after reviewing their completed information forms.

-Attend a minimum of 4 meetings per school year and particpate in 1 community service project.

-New Members must attend an Induction ceremony to become an active member.
