Updated Rescue & Recovery Policy RandRchanges

Parents/Guardians,

Among Administration and Teachers at Elbert County Comprehensive High School there is a foundational belief that ALL children can learn, but they all do so at different times, and in a different manner.  With this understanding, our goal is to offer the opportunity to “Rescue and Recover” missed/lost material, after the instructional day, when individual attention may be afforded.  This academic opportunity will be offered each afternoon at ECCHS, Monday through Thursday, from 3:00-3:45, with transportation being provided.

In reflection of our prior practice, through dialogue with our campus leadership team, and in securing parental feedback, a change is now to be noted in the Rescue and Recovery process moving forward.

Students scoring an 85 or below on any assessment may be allowed to rescue.  They must attend one afternoon tutorial session with their scheduled teacher prior to being allowed to retest.  The second test will be....

ECCHS is very fortunate to possess such a dynamic teaching force that is committed not only to the instructional development of our children, but too, is willing to place pride and tradition on the sideline, in favor of student empowerment and personalized learning.  ECCHS students will…”
