Each year during Black History Month, Augusta University holds the African American Scholar Recognition Program to recognize high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. High schools around the state are invited to nominate the top three African American students of the senior class in their school to receive this recognition. This year, ECCHS is pleased to announce that DyNazha Hughes, Lourvon Lewis, and Keosha “Jade” Moss were nominated by the guidance office for this award. This nomination was based on their superior academic achievement and class rank. The awards program was held on February 15 and each student received an Augusta University Certificate of Academic Achievement.
DyNazha is the daughter of LaToya Tillman and is planning to attend Augusta University in the fall. Lourvon is the daughter of Carter and Josephine Lewis, and Jade is the daughter of Jackie Cade. Both of these students have been accepted to several colleges but are still undecided about where they will attend. Congratulations to all three of these outstanding seniors!
