Framework for Success - Elbert County's Five-Year Strategic Plan

Elbert County's Strategic Plan is a blueprint designed to keep us focused on achieving our goals.Framework Many of the action steps in the plan are recommendations from the Georgia Vision Project, a collaboration between the Georgia School Superintendents Association and the Georgia School Boards Association.

School Uniform Survey

The Elbert County School District is surveying parents to gather feedback and determine levels ofParent Surveysupport for implementation of a school uniform policy for the 2017-18 school year.

Elbert County Middle School to Participate in National Assessment

The Elbert County School District is proud to announce that a group of our 8th grade students willNAEP participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) on January 31, 2017!  Known as The Nation’s Report Card, NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students in the United States know and can do.

2017-18 School Calendar Survey for School District Staff and Parent/Guardians

GaDOE Curriculum and Instruction Updates - November 2016

The Georgia Department of Education's Office of Curriculum and Instruction publishes a monthly newsletter filled with important information for all teachers and administrators in the state's public schools. Much of the information is also helpful to parents and students who wish to remain up-to-date on important matters of teaching and learning.  

Gold Radish Award Presented to the Elbert County School District

The Elbert County School District was recently recognized with the Golden Radish Award at the Gold level for their accomplishments during the 2015-2016 school year.

2016-17 Teachers of the Year Recognized at Board Meeting Georgia Teacher of the Year Program

The Elbert County Board of Education recognized each of the district's 2016-17 Teachers of the Year at its October 17 regular meeting. Our 2016-17 Teachers of the Year are Lisa Brown (Blackwell Learning Center), Scott Eubanks (ECPS), Amber Dixon (ECES), Brooke Dickerson (ECMS), and Bret Norman (ECCHS).

Five-Year Strategic Plan Approved - Framework for Success 2016-2021

On September 19, 2016, the Board of Education approved a new strategic plan for the Elbert County School District, called Framework for Success 2016-2021.

ECES and ECCHS Special Education Classroom Renovation Project

On behalf of the Elbert County School District, Parrish Construction Group, Inc. is soliciting proposals from qualified subcontractors and vendors for the Elbert County Elementary School and High School Special Education Classroom Renovation project.

Title I Annual Parent Meetings

Parental involvement can make a huge difference in student achievement and is a major focus of the Elbert County School District’s school improvement efforts.  The purpose of the meetings is to provide information to parents to help them learn about the goals and purposes of Title I; learn about the standards, curriculum and assessments; and provide suggestions and ask questions about Title I plans, programs and activities.

Open House 2016

Kudos to everyone on a great 2016 Open House!  Lightning and rain didn't keep parents and students from getting out to our schools for Open House activities.  Check out a few pictures here.

2016-17 District Code of Conduct

The Elbert County Board of Education has published the 2016-17 District Code of Conduct.  The Code outlines the rules and responsibilities of all stakeholders and is a common reference document for many discipline-related matters.

Final Touches Being Made to New Entrance Sign at ECCHS

The Elbert County School District in partnership with Elbert County granite quarriers and manufacturers is bringing to completion a project resulting in a new entrance sign at Elbert County Comprehensive High School.  As of Thursday, April 14, the sign is fully operational.  With an event-filled end of the school year approaching, the LED messaging component of the sign will be a great communication tool.

Toddler Story Time at the Elbert Co. Public Library Resumes September 6

The Elbert County Public Library is pleased to announce that Toddler Story Times will resume on Tuesdays beginning September 6 and each Tuesday thereafter through the end of November.  In hopes of expanding our audience and providing an opportunity for working parents to  participate, we will conduct a morning program at 10:30 and an afternoon program at 4:00.

 

Infants to children  5 years of age are encouraged to attend with a responsible adult the program that best suits their schedule.

Online Practice Tests Available to Students to Prepare for The Georgia MIlestones Assessment Testing

The Georgia Milestones Assessment System measures what students in grades 3 through high school have mastered and learned.  Many of our students will take these tests online.
