The Elberton Police Department along with the East Side Neighborhood Watch will beyy hosting a meeting at the Blackwell Memorial Cultural Center on May 15 at 6:00 p.m.

Congratulations to Former ECCHS Student/Athlete Mecole Hardman and the UGA Bulldogs!

MHIt was another proud moment for all of Elbert County on January 1, 2018 as former ECCHS  student/athlete Mecole Hardman and the Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 54-48 to earn a spot in the NCAA football championship game on January 8.

Employees and Parents Invited to Vote on 2018-2019 Academic Calendar

On January 22, 2018, the Elbert County School District will adopt an academic calendar for thecalendar 2018–19 school year. After reviewing the calendars, please go to the survey at https://kwiksurveys.com/s/D777lj5K to cast your vote for the 2018-2019 academic calendar. Only one survey submission per person is allowed, and the survey will remain open through Tuesday, January 16.

Substitute Teacher Training To Be Offered on December 12

subThe Elbert County School District is interested in recruiting and developing high quality substitute teachers for its PreK-12 classrooms. The district will be hosting training for individuals interested in substitute teaching on Tuesday, December 12th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The training will be held in the Staff Development Room at the Board of Education Office. 

Elbert County School District Receives Golden Radish Award for Farm to School Accomplishments

The Golden Radish Award publicly recognizes school districts for all aspects of farm to school, from local food procurement to hosting taste tests and gardening with students.

ECCHS Teachers Receive Hart EMC Grants Hart EMC

Congratulations to ECCHS teachers Constance Reid, Deanna Crook, LeeAnne Cordelle, and James Gordon, for receiving Hart Electric Membership Cooperative (EMC) grants totaling $2095.

REACH Georgia Signing Day at ECMS

Congratulations to ECMS eighth graders Austin Bruce, Jamil Burton, Katie Hobbs, and Connie Lampkin for becoming REACH scholars on Wednesday, October 11. In the ECMS Auditorium, these four students and their parents signed REACH Scholarship Agreements in front of their eighth grade classmates, teachers, administrators, and several distinguished guests.


11th Annual College Fair at ECCHS College Fair

On Friday, October 6, Elbert County Comprehensive High School (ECCHS) hosted its 11th Annual College Fair, and once again it was a big success!

Child SafetyOn Saturday, September 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Elberton Police Department will have officers that are certified in child seat installments available to assist you in keeping your child safe on the highway.

ECCHS Graduation Rate On the Rise Graduate

Congratulations to the faculty and staff, administrative team, district-level support staff, and parents for all the efforts that are going into “nurturing, educating, and graduating” our ECCHS students.  Students from the Class of 2017 deserve the greatest of congratulations, as they stepped up in a big way this past year. 


November is Family Engagement Month

November is Family Engagement Month in Georgia, and districts and schools across the state will beSFP highlighting the important role parents play in their children’s education. In addition, November 16 is National Parent Involvement Day, a time for all schools and parents to reflect on the vital partnership needed for Georgia’s students and schools to be successful.

Budget Hearings Notice

The Elbert County Board of Education will conduct budget hearings for the 2018-2019bu fiscal year budget at 5:30 p.m. on May 14, 2018, May 21, 2018, and June 11, 2018. All meetings will be held at the Elbert County Board of Education Office located at 50 Laurel Drive, Elberton, GA, 30635. Annual Asbestos Notification

Under AHERA (Asbestos Hazard  Emergency Response Act), all primary and secondary schools are  required to develop and implement a planfor  managing all buillding materials which contain asbestos.   


Books for Keeps is Coming to Elbert County Schools

The Elbert County School District is pleased to partner with Books for Keeps to provide our K-4bfk students open, equal access to books for reading, discovery, and laying the foundation for a successful life. Books for Keeps will be at Elbert County Elementary School from May 1-3, and at Elbert County Primary School from May 7-8.
