Lady Devils Named to All-Region! 2017 All-Region Softball

Five members of the Lady Devils softball team were selected to the 2017 8-AA All-Region team. Sydney Blackmon, Madelyn Libby, and Emily Starrett were all named First Team All-Region. Baylie Bialis and Allie Dunn were each named Honorable Mention. All were chosen due to their outstanding effort they put forth this season.

Way to go, Ladies! We are so proud of you!

School Nominees for 2018 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program GHPNominees17-18

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected as this year’s school nominees for the 2018 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program. Our school nominees are:

Spencer Daughtry in Music. Spencer’s instrument is the trombone, and his sub-area is Brass. Spencer is the son of Bill and Ladonna Daughtry.
Kaden Smith in Music. Kaden’s instrument is drums, and his sub-area is Jazz. Kaden is the son of Larry and Allison Smith.

These students will now move on to the state level competition, where they will submit a written application. If chosen as a semifinalist, they will participate in a statewide interview. If chosen as a GHP finalist, they will spend 4 weeks at Berry College this summer in their chosen area. Congratulations to these 2 students and best of luck to them in their application process!

Ash Bennett - 2018 HOBY Ambassador! Ash Bennett--HOBY2018

Congratulations to sophomore Ashford Bennett who has been selected as Elbert County’s HOBY Ambassador for 2018! The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminars are held each spring around the country and is the nation’s only program exclusively designed for high school sophomores. At ECCHS, students are selected based on a written application and teacher recommendations, and must demonstrate potential leadership ability. Ashford will attend a weekend seminar in June at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA with other students from all over the state. He is the son of Janna and Shayne Bennett. Congratulations, Ash!
