Rope Bridge: Teams compete for
best time in a simulation of the team crossing a
natural obstacle such as a ravine or a river. This
year's 10 member team has won 1st place in this
event in each of the three competitions. They are
consistently running at a state breaking time of
1:03.
Cross Country Rescue: Teams compete
in a simulation of trying to get an injured man
and equipment from point A to B through distance
as well as over obstacles. Six of the team members
carry ruck sacks weighing 50 lbs each and the other
4 members carry a litter weighing 120 lbs. All 10
members compete in this event and they have scored
in the top 6 in each of the three competitions.
PT: Members are scored on their
physical endurance and strength in three areas:
situps and pushups in 2 minutes, and a 2- mile run.
The five member team of Allen Bradford, Zac Graham,
Stephen Jenkins, Reid Fuller, and Matt Bradford
have continuously scored in the top 3 in this event,
with Zac Graham bringing home a top 5 individual
trophy this past weekend, and the other members
each scoring over 300 pts earning them the 1st place
award.
Obstacle Course: Five team members
go through a course with multiple training obstacles
including a low crawl pit, rope climbing, balance
beam, 10 ft wall, horizontal ladder, double rope
bridge, and belly busters. The five member team
for this event is made up of AJ Graham, Trey Lester,
Matt Mason, Brad Leming, and Jamarcus Burton. This
team also continuously scores within the top 3 teams
at the events.
Team 3-5 mile Run: The ten team
members run together for the distance
and they all must finish as a group- no member can
be more than 15 yards away from the group.
Gauntlet: Ten men take part in
a 2 mile run with 4 rucksacks. The team must work
together and use teamwork to complete the run, trading
off rucks as one gets tired.
Map Reading Test: Consists of
five teams of 2 members. Each team is given 20 multiple
choice questions on how to read elevation, distance
in meters, 8 digit grid coordinates and other map
skills.
Relay Can Relay: All ten members
go 60 yards down and back, one member at a time
carries 2 ammo cans weighting 25- 35 lbs each.
Humvee Pull: All ten members work
together to pull a stalled Humvee 100 yards to the
finish line.
