The
goal ofExciting Education Council on the Web was to create
a web presence for the Exciting Education Council that would showcase the
projects that have been funded through the council's mini-grant program
since 1998. Ten third year Technology Education students at Elbert
County Comprehensive High School worked diligently to acheive this goal
and make ECC on the web a reality. Serving as webmasters, the students
worked to create webpages that documented projects funded from 1998 - 2000
as well as collect photographs and information to document the projects
being conducted during the 2001-02 school year.
The money from this grant was used to subsidize the purchase of a digital
camera that was used to take photographs of the 2001-2002 projects as they
were implemented at the different schools.
Each student webmaster was responsible for developing an efficient
method of communication with the project coordinators in order to document
the projects from start to finish.
Students benefited by increasing their technical and design
skills as they worked with software to create web graphics and webpages.
Other student benefits included opportunities to enhance communication
skills, meet project deadlines, discover advanced techniques in digital-editing,
and cooperate as a member of a design team.
