The 2017 ECMS Technology Fair is March 16, 2017. Students must register no later than February 24 (REGISTRATION FORM) and they may only enter 1 category. Students may enter projects as a pair, but only 1 prize will be given if the entry places. Competition will be at the 5th/6th grade band and the 7th/8th grade band. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category in each grade band.
Category information and judging rubrics can be found at the website. This information is patterned directly from the Georgia Educational Technology Fair.
Students will set up their entries on March 13. School personnel will pre-judge the entries and narrow the number to 12 max entries per category/per grade band. Students will be notified the afternoon of March 14 by letter if their project qualified for the final round of judging. Those students can “revisit” their entry March 15 from 2:55 – 5:00 to make final touch ups or practice for judging.
Judging will be from 8:30am – 2:30pm. Students must be present to answer the judges' questions. The judges will spend up to ten minutes at each presentation.
Winners will be announced that night at the Title I meeting at 6:00pm in the auditorium and the entries will be on public display that night. All entries must be claimed by the afternoon of March 17.
Entries will be disqualified for plagiarism or copyright infringements.
