Proportionate Share Letter FY26
Proportionate Share Consultation Input Survey for 2025-2026 SY
Each year, the Elbert County School District (ECSD) receives federal funds to be used for the education of students with disabilities through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). In accordance with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) rules and IDEA, the ECSD calculates a proportionate share of those funds to provide parentally placed private school and homeschooled children with disabilities an opportunity for equitable participation in the services funded with Federal Part B funds. IDEA does not dictate what kinds of services or specified amounts of services must be provided. These decisions are made during the consultation process and are based on the needs of the children designated to receive services. The ECSD collaborates annually with key stakeholders, including private school representatives, to determine how those funds will be used.
