Principal Laura Albertson
  • Hey everybody!

My name is Mrs. Albertson, but you can call me “Mrs. A.”  I am the Principal here at ECPS.  I have served in leadership at ECPS since we opened our doors in 2012.  It is a joy and privilege to serve my students, staff, and their families.  Here’s a little information about me.

    Schooling:

After graduating from ECCHS, I attended and graduated from Emmanuel College with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.  I later earned my Master’s and Specialist’s degrees in Administration & Supervision from Clemson University.  (I am a DAWG at heart!)

    Background:

I have been in education since 1996.  I have taught children in all grades K-5.  Most of my career has involved kindergarten, first grade, K-5 EIP instruction and co-teaching, as well as providing literacy interventions for at risk children.  Prior to becoming the Principal, I served as the ECPS Assistant Principal for 9 years, a full time teacher, RTI Coordinator, and Principal’s assistant at Doves Creek, and teacher at Falling Creek.

    Get to know me:

I moved to Elberton when I was in 7th grade.  ECMS was my 6th new school.  I am thankful to have landed in such an awesome town!  This town has been a blessing to me and my family.  I married my high school sweetheart and we have one child.  I am a 2013 Breast Cancer Survivor.  I love football, sporting events, hiking, biking, junking, dancing, singing, and music.  I also love your student!  I believe my calling here is to support and encourage students, staff and their families as we all learn together.

    Let’s have an awesome year!

    ♥️Mrs. A
